I am in the middle of doing an AWD swap and wanted to add some information to the Forum world. If you are swapping a FWD Auto to an AWD Auto you will need to source a new TCU. The FWD TCU will work in a pinch if you need to move the car, but will go into limp mode. The shift points are also in different RPM points since the gear ratios are different (per VFAQ)

Very good information! This is true because the tcu looks for a certain ratio on the sensors and if it does not see the right numbers it considers the transmission to be slipping and will go to limp mode. Some of the tcu's are eprom and can be reprogrammed.
