i have a 97 mirage coupe 1.8 i am about to buy a 1st gen 4g63t. i was wondering if the engine sits the same as mine. driver side intake. i think that it does but i havent been a ble to find pictures. i hope this swap doesn't end up costing to much dough.

i read in another thread that you can use an older mirage turbo and the 4G63T swap is a diret drop in. if this is true and someone could confir it, i may be interested in doing that swap. any help would be great. thanks

Drew, the engine sits the opposite way that yours sits. If you want one that will be an easier swap, then you want an Evo IV, V or VI engine.

Proton is a company that bought many of Mitsubishi's designs and remade them. The Satria is their version of the Mirage hatchback (not offered in the US). I believe they sell in SE Asia and Australia. You can check out some modded Protons here... http://www.geocities.com/atnan2001cars/images/
The engine looks like a 4G63, but they also offer a version of the 4G93 overseas that is DOHC and turbocharged.
Check out this Mirage VR-X in Auckland http://www.boostaholic.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=357
Why can't Mitsu offer cars like this over here??
