lets see here he gave us three cars (both cars stock) this race was about 1/4 little less i'd say... we beat the cobra 2 out of 3 this guy wasnt gripping he said.. he was getting pissed.. so he goes to the store and unplugs his ABS and gets some water... he whoops us now...
then he takes on my friends stock 89 rx-7 (n/a) it was CLOSE the rx7 has a messed up tranny and still almost took the SVT im guessing the cobra just sucks at shifting and launching... he needed excuses after excuses... but ya.. it was pretty nice we had a camera too but didnt tape it

but i cant believe my friends escort was doing so good.. he is a VERY good driver though, this was the first time he ever raced...
i got the cobras number and im going to set up another race night when my car is repaired..
i was just wondering a couple things do you guys know how much rwhp stock cobra svt's have? because im not sure of the year or anything he said it was stock ( but it sounded... wow... but i guess mustangs have those crazy exhaust that are stock but still very loud.. )

We were just driving home from the mall I was in my friends ford escort 1992 manual stock..
We saw a 'stock' svt cobra so we pulled on him because i told my friend too and he was like why not... so we did and the cobra just kept following us as we looked for a long open road.
After we played around for a while the cobra told us to follow him so we did, we ended up at some factory area with nothing around, so all the cobra does is pop his hood to look to unhook his ABS so we can warm up his tires better. After he warms up his tires he tells his friend to line us up so we (the ford escort) get a three car lead in the appx. 1/4 mile race.
On the first one the mustang and the escort both sucked at launching so we didnt even count that one. The second race happened and the escort slipped the clutch at 3000 rpm when the cobra had to launch at like 1500 since he wasnt gripping. On that race the escort won. The third race came with the same launching but the mustang supposeably gripped worse even though he caught up faster farther in the race. At the end of the 'track' there is a turn when you have to slow down but the cobra just wanted to get ahead so he stopped late ended up sliding and hitting the curb pretty hard. No damage so he wanted to cont. racing. Right after this he was complaining on how he wouldnt grip so he wanted to get water so he did... After he warmed up his tires with water the escort couldnt keep up at all. So we had our friends rx-7 (it was non turbo 88-89 rx-7 manual stock as well). The problems with the rx-7 was just a slipping clutch and a bad 2nd gear. After the cobra warmed up his tires he shortly after went heads up with the rx-7. The race was very close... 1st gear went by they were even.. 2nd gear went by and they were still even but at 3rd the race was over, the cobra over took the rx-7... that was the night practically..
We didnt get any footage but we are going to next time when my car is running; I wanted to know how much do svt cobra's have stock (hp) im not sure of his year im just looking for a range, thanks

don't sleep on the escorts.. a friend of mine had one of them as a beater for a while, we put a 75 shot on it and cleaned up more than you'd expect on the street.. we were taking money from LT1s with it even.. priceless... i couldn't believe it at first.. i was laughing alll night long during that "experiment".

wow i just got home, but ya... that escort has potentional i mean.. wow... he beats a lot of shit on the streets surprisingly.. iunno how man... but he definately is a REALLY good driver... these cars can handle 75 shot with stock build??? wow..

i dunno if they can handle it for long? we only did it one night, for shits and giggles, original plan was to take money from all the local honda kiddies that thought their 14.5 car was fast, but then realized it the scort was running good enough to go after some faster stuff, and ended up getting a few LT1s by the end of the night too.. i figure it was a 13 second ride on the juice, which honestly impressed the hell out of me. the kit was "nitrous in a bag" that was borrowed off a friend's mustang... that kit is pretty funny, i forget who makes it.. uses a hard line to install that you'd never see under the hood (nobody could find it, searching all night long), and the bottle comes with a spaulding gym bag to hide it in, the electronics are all concealed and plug into a cigarette lighter.. people were searching the car all night for nitrous and nobody figured it out

My buddy's 350z Is Stock...ish. I looked all day in the engine bay for a Nitrous Install and Coudln't find it...he still has the stock Airbox!!! And the bottle is hidden under the spare tire in soem compartment he made to look liek it belongs there.

The 2003 - 2004 SVT Cobras have 390 hp and 390 lbs of torque. A 03-04 cobra should crush both of those cars with out a problem, hell the 03-04 cobra would crush a 3rd gen RX-7. The 2001 Cobra has 320 hp and 317 lbs of torque. The 1998 Cobra has 305 hp and 300 lbs of torque.

Last week at the track I saw a hand full of 03 Cobras running mid 12s STOCK, I have a close friend that has bolt ons (blower pulley, exhaust intake, intake) and runs 11.20s all day long in his Cobra. THAT MUST BE ONE QUICK ESCORT!

well the escort literally i helped him perfect his launch.. and he shifts with like.. no geforce shifting he shifts.. wow.. very fast... but the car is slow... the stang was a good driver.. but his tires werent gripping too well i guess (racing is racing you dont have slicks everywhere you go..)

yeah i doubt your Escort beat a SVT...even stock vs stock..you would have been toast...dont lie about races...its not cool..I dont care how "good" your friend drives, as that seems to be what you are stressing, a stock escort WILL NOT beat a stock SVT

Are you sure that stang was a cobra??? I mean, at the moment it sounds like a v6 mustang w/ a cobra/gt body...Im sure the mustang has close to a 1000lb on the little 4cyl, so that should help a lot, but I doubt you guys were pulling 3 cars on a genuine cobra...v8+s/c+rwd = owned....

get your pocketlogger/safc/fuel already and pull those REAL cobra's

11.20s Wow........ personally I think it takes a little more. I run with my buddys Cobra and trust me I have alot done. As for the ESCORT,,,,, man it must have go fast stickers and a big wing to be that fast. LOL

Not all cobra's run 11's....I can understand how bolt-on friendly they are, but not all cobra owners buy a shitload of aftermarket....I am not saying that his e3b16g gsx could pull a modded cobra, I was just saying that he should finish tuning/modding his own car so he could get back in the scene and possibly race some cobra's on his own....Personally dollar-to-dollar ratio I think 3k in mods + a 20k late-model cobra would get crushed by a 3k dsm w/ only 6-8k in mods

ya... lol i cant wait till i get those dollars in my car... my car will be running by tuesday... midnight tonight (school night too! fuck..) im going to work on my car at the machine shop... then im going to install everything back in monday after school then it will be running hard on tuesday-wednesday (if no other problems occur *knock on freaking wood 938749374987 times...*) uggh i have the worst of luck.. but ya.. this svt was STOCK... thats what he said.. so i guess it was... he also said it was his FIRST night out with it.. he always garages it..
