Aftermarket Water Pumps

I'm replacing the water pump in my car, but I haven't decided to go with one from Satan, or from an aftermarket retailer like Autozone, Napa, etc. What is the largest number of miles anyone has gone on an aftermarket waterpump (from Napa, autozone, pepboys, etc)?

The reason I ask is that in my old '88 Camero, whenever I replaced the waterpump with one from Pepboys, it would only last like 10,000 miles and then crap out again. I definately don't want that to happen now, since its so difficult to replace on these 1G eclipses.

So how far has anyone gone on an aftermarket waterpump, or should I bite the bullet and get a dealer one? Also, how much should I expect to spend on the one from the dealer?

I would definitely go with one from the dealer. If you order one of the online dealers such as Rockville Mitsubishi the prices are very competitive. I have actually gotten cheaper prices on parts that way than going down to the part store, and they are OEM.

Here is the link
Rockville Mitsu
Stick with OEM. 97.50 if you order it through www.jnztuning.com . Support the sponsors who support this site.
There are many members on this board that work with and support this sites vendors, choose one of them to keep it in the family. The problem w/ most NAPA etc. water pumps is unless you get the extremely pricey ones, they're just remaned units which almost never hold up as good.
we have had great experience with the inexpensive GMB water we have used and sold dozens over the years and they have worked with out flaw. just food for though.

Take another look at the NAPA's. They have at least one or two solid pumps that are new and about half the price of a Mitsu.
