I was wondering where you guys connected the positive lead on the light of the boost gauge. I have an autometer ultra-light. Will be on a 90 Tsi. Thanks in advance.

I used the same keyed power that my radio uses. I did it that way because I was already installing the new radio.

just tap it into the positive for the cigarette lighter light.
comes on only when you have dash lights on.

yep, i used the one going to the cigarette lighter as well. that way gauges work off the dimmer switch.

to expand on what lee said: you must use both the positive and negative. other-wise it won't dim (yea, learned through experience).

I will be connecting the A/F guage on the cig lighter, so where can I connect the boost gauge? Anywhere there is a light source? Any ideas, I can't think of any that would dim the light to it. Thanks again.

I just pulled the trim from around the gauge cluster, and wired into the illumination wire going to my fog light switch, very close to the a-piller.
