Constructive Criticism!?

I'm curious to see how many of you actually like my "wing" and how many think it's just too much rice. What are your thoughts on my GSX's exterior appearance. What would you change?

well with all the fast n furious stickers i guess it flows with the whole car image
My goal is to make it stand out but not riced out. The only other exterior mods I plan on making are a VIS EVO style Carbon Fiber hood, APR GT Carbon Fiber mirrors and a pearlescent silver paint job. No stupid body kits! I think that'll give it the look to go with the performance. All show and no go is retarded. All go and no show is cool. Combining both show (to a point) and go (in my opinion) is the essence of import style and theory.

Performance mods include...
6 bolt engine swap bored .020 over
Crower rods
Ross ceramic coated pistons
Polished & balanced crank
Balance shaft eliminated
Clevite bearings
ARP studs
Blitz intake
RS*R downpipe
HKS Carbon/Ti exhaust
16G turbo
APEXi S-AFC
SPEARCO FMIC
RRE & Custome IC pipes
Turbonetics boost controller
...I think that's it. I'm not even close to being finished. I will run 11's. Oh yes...I will run 11's.

i think the spoiler is rice.. go wingless or get oem spoiler..

car looks a lil high.. lower it maybe?

and take of all the stickers.. and if your getting a cf hood id recommend oem..

what i have just mentioned is the common style of DSMers.. i dont think ive seen an 11 sec 2g with a spoiler like that lol.. if you keep it perhaps you maybe first.. heh jk

again i like the common 2g dsm look.. but thats just me

you got those nice internal engine mods, but decided to only use a tiny (compared to what a lot of fast DSMs are using now) 16g.. and only using an afc.. you went big with some of the mods.. might as well go for the full shabang.. bigger turbo, dsmlink/standalone? just curious if there was any reason?

well thats my criticizing.. good luck with hte car and keep us updated

imo the oem spoiler looks best, and makes the car stand out plenty. I like the way a CF hood stands out from a lighter color car. I think a FMIC always completes the package on a 2g

And please do get a bigger turbo and proper support, would be a shame to see such a nice motor build up go to waste :(

edit: throw some eibachs on it too
I agree with the above.
Lower that girl and get rid of the wing. Go with a stock spoiler or a not so ricey aftermarket spoiler.
Like the car, wheels, and stickers :)

ok, for the record: i have the stock 97 gst rear spoiler. if i had the low profile one i would probably swap it out.

personally, i DO think your car looks funny with the big wheels and wing, yet riding that high. i do suggest lowering it- properly!

the wing: decide what is more important- running 11's or personal style. if that is a "functional" wing to give you down force to keep you on the track during hard turns or whatever, it is not helping you go 11 seconds down the 1320.
if the wing is for your personal style: if you like it, keep it! i like the more "stock" look but if you don't personalize a little, what's the point?

as it stands now, with the big wing, and all the stickers, you are sort of pegging the "rice" meter. In the late ninetys that was the sh*t. if that is the "essence of import style and theory" to you I don't think you should totally change your style to please others.

why not get a good suspension set up that moderately lowers the car and get the wing "tuned" for road racing and concentrate on lower lap times?

anyway, whatever you do: Do it to please you. (and now back to our afterschool special...)

imo- wing is rice. too flamboyant.
rims- not a fan, never liked those wheels
stickers- gotta go.
suspension, needs to be lowered.
color- love it.
Wing = puke
Rims = 1999 called, they want them back
Stickers = F&F, you aren't sponsored so don't bother with them

It's cool that you actually are open to these suggestions. What people are saying on here is what every other performance minded person says when they see your car.

You don't have too much to do to fix that thing up. Put your stock wing back on, update the rims, fix the dent in the front quarter, fill the holes in your bumper, and lower it. Definitely get a CF hood, just make sure whatever you get flows with the overall theme of your car. It's the little things that will set your car apart from the rest, not big spoilers and stickers.

Lastly, that better not be a monster tach on your dash.

I've actually been thinking a lot lately about removing the stickers, switching to the smaller single plane APR GT-S wing and getting some SSR GT7 wheels. As for my "tiny" turbo, I wanted to build my engine just so I could upgrade to the FP3052 or 65. I'm not sure which one yet. The next thing I'll do to the GSX is install some Koni shocks and Eibach Pro springs. It's funny...the reason I posted this is to see if everyone agreed with me...and ya'll have. I think my car is too ricy and I'm planning on redoing the exterior more to MY liking. Thanks for the oppinions. I am also planning on ditching the AFC for the DSMLink and installing the MAF Translator befor I upgrade the turbo. I'll keep ya'll posted. Any more questions or comments...feel free!
NO!!! That's not a Monster Tach. I hate Auto Meter! All of my gauges are APEXi and I'm thinking about upgrading to the Blitz DC's. I'm lovin it...Keep em' comming!
Lower it
Get rid of the wing
Get a nice set of wheels
Stickers…Wing... come on, -rice-
What tail lights do you have on it OEM? I hope you don’t say carbon fiber.
Is there something wrong with the driver side fender? If there is don’t replace it with Z3 fenders.
-Keep the car clean-
I do not like the wing or the stickers, com on your name isnt paul walker is it? other than that the car looks ok in my eyes.

Like I said...No body kits for me thank you. There was a dent in the drivers side front quarter when I bought it. I did my best to smooth it out. I'll get it fixed when I get the holes in the trunk filled and have the car painted pearl silver.
By the way...that's not my real lisence plate so don't even comment on it.

1985 called, they want their joke back!
Just kidding!!!
My stock spioler was actually stolen. I decided to get an aftermarket wing to replace it with and the GT1 was my choice at the time. My taste has changed since then and this is the wing that I'm going to replace my GT1 with. It's smaller yet still effective.

These are the wheels I'm looking at. They're SSR GT7's. Forged! Light weight and strong. Performance over style right?

I would get some BBS style Wheels.

BBS RGR
Please put the OEM tail lights in, please

Did your DSM not come with a tach? Because I could have sworn they all had one when they left the factory...
