I just took the head off my 93(t-belt skipped-thats another story) and the I noticed the exhaust side of the turbo is cracked. My question is how bad is too bad? Will it effect boosting? If I can get some general knoledge on this, it would be appreciated,

will porting really going to get rid of the cracks?
It depends on how long the cracks are. If they extend beyond the diameter

of the wastegate flapper, then porting will increase boost threshold.:(

Depends on where they are and how big they are. Got rid of the cracks in my wastegate hole ;)
The crack is on the wastegate side. It goes from top of the turbo right down to the wastegate. Also, it looks very deep. Its about 6mm deep or so. What is my best option now? Im limited on funds, so please help me out.

can buy

you can buy a used 14b for around a hundred bucks and just salvage the housing if the rest is crap.

that or go get an LR2 or FP green :)

So can I buy just a turbo housing, or do I need a whole turbo?
