Ok well now that i've got the belt on, the T on the lower timing cover does not line up with the crank mark...is it supposed to be like this?? The notch on the backing plate behind the crank sprocket lines up with the crank mark....is this done correctly?

WTF i'm doing!!!! Ok the backing plate moves with the crank sprocket, so that can't be the timing mark!!! Where is the crank timing mark on a 2G??? I'm using the VFAQ write up, but it's very vaugue.

^you can use the 1GT as a refrence because it's the same engine.
Other than that I don't know.. I have N/T's... hopefully someone else will chime in here.

It looks to me like the oil is off a tooth. There should be less slack inbetween the crank and the oil pump even when not tightened.

Sorry....I can't see the crank clearly enough to judge if the crank pully is inline with it's mark.

When I put mine back together ( yesterday ) I only had slack in the belt around the auto tensioner....everything else was pretty snug.
