I just got a 97 awd talon with a lot of mods, but wtf is crankwalk having a 1g ive never really tried to invest time into finding out what it is?

I'm not sure exactly what it is but it has something to do with the wearing of something with the tranny, allowing another thing to move from side to side.
Or maybe I should just shut up since I don't know wtf I'm talking about....lol
but its bad.

I think general rule of thumb is, that if your car is 60,000+ miles then you are probably in the clear.

this info could be very very easily found by doing a simple search or by going to the vfaq and looking under "crankwalk"

it's premature failure of the thrust bearing in the crank (nothing to do with the tranny). no one is sure why it happens, just that mitsubishi screwed up.

the bearing wears, allows the crank to wobble, it destroys the engine (usually the crank angle sensor first)

that's crankwalk in a nutshell
