OK, I got a 1996 Eclipse
it has a 6 bolt motor,
so,,,, do I need DSM link fro the 1995-1999
or for the 1990-1994

I am ready to order this tonight, just need to make sure I order what I need

dsmlinlk has nothing to do with the body of the car; there for it has to do with the engine; there for it must be for the 90-94 body due to the 6bolt engine.

Negative. It all depends on what ECU you are running. If you are running a 2G ECU then you need the 2G version. You'll need a 95 EPROM ECU for it to work.

Yeah, nice way to make a $600 mistake....

In all DSM's, you need to have an EPROM ecu first, for they will allow you to socket the chip in....On 2g's, only the 95' turbo models had an EPROM...Unfortunately, this means going out and dumping another couple hundred bucks on the ecu...good luck, sorry you were not aware

A 6 bolt swap into a 2G retains the 2G ECU. That is why we must flip the CAS signal and spark plug wires.

Buy the 2G DSMLink. :)

He has a 96, and must retain his OBD2 to stay emissions compliant. And the body does have something to do with the ECU, since OBD protocal changed with the body style :p

dud, I am in arkansas, we dont need no stinkin emisions :p

you can do anything to a car here, hell lots of folks are still dating their own sisters, they figure if she aint good enough for their own family she aint good enough for anyone :D
