Negative. It all depends on what ECU you are running. If you are running a 2G ECU then you need the 2G version. You'll need a 95 EPROM ECU for it to work.

Yeah, nice way to make a $600 mistake....

In all DSM's, you need to have an EPROM ecu first, for they will allow you to socket the chip in....On 2g's, only the 95' turbo models had an EPROM...Unfortunately, this means going out and dumping another couple hundred bucks on the ecu...good luck, sorry you were not aware

A 6 bolt swap into a 2G retains the 2G ECU. That is why we must flip the CAS signal and spark plug wires.

Buy the 2G DSMLink.

He has a 96, and must retain his OBD2 to stay emissions compliant. And the body does have something to do with the ECU, since OBD protocal changed with the body style
