EGR Block-Off Questions.

I just blocked off my EGR w/soda can mod and pulled the canister/vacuum lines, etc. I've noticed that my car is running A LOT better now, probablly due to a faulty EGR. Anyway, my CEL is on and I want it to go away, obviously. From searching I've found that re-setting your ECU a few times will trick the ECU into thinking that a blocked EGR is ok, keeping the light from illuminating. Is there a different approach to this? I want my CEL to be gone already.

Did you remove the egr sylanoids. If so plug them back in. You shouldn't get a cel after that. I just recently did the same exact thing.
Will a car still pass emissions after the egr removal if you dont have any cel lights? On a 97' car were they would test the obdll and not use the treadmill.

When I removed emissions (including EGR) on my 91 GSX, I removed EVERYTHING associated with it basically. I got the CEL for that too and simply cleared it off with MMcD and it never came back

I did keep the solenoids plugged in. I just zip tied them against the firewall. I've reset the ECU twice and the code keeps throwing. What's a mmcd? A scantool? Sorry it's early and maybe it'll hit me when I actually wake up.
