I ordered an EVO 3 16G GT turbo frm extrememotorsports.com and right now I have a completly stock TSI, would the 16G work fine for now (would I be able to push the car hard, on stock boost??? ) have asked around mostly everyone seems to say the same thing..,"that it will work fine, but I will soon have to change out the fuel pump/injectors...

What kind of exhaust manifold are you going with? Im going with the evo 3 big 16g myself. Whats the difference between that one and the GT big 16g?
the EVO 3 GT 16G has a bigger coolent side more air flow
Re: ~EVO3 16g GT~ on stock TSI???

You can run any turbo on the stock fuel system, now you will have to have a boost controler on there to keep it down below 15psi. But you can definetly use a 16g on stock fuel system, you just can't run it to it's full potential. I ran a 60 trim at 18 psi on stock injectors at 95%. Just keep the boost set lower.

Is it really necessary to start 2 threads about this?

Yes, you can run that turbo on a completely stock car. Keep the boost down and you'll be fine. You'd see bigger gains by upgrading other parts first before getting a bigger turbo but if thats the route you want to go its doable.

1 topic will suffice
Well, i know the basics are needed in order to run the boost up on it more. Injectors, fuel pump, etc. but what else? I wanna be able to run around 18-19 psi on mine when i get it.
Injectors, 190/255 Walbro, and a good Downpipe etc.

I can run 25lbs of boost on my setup, even though i never do..

But i have 6 bolt packed with ross pistons/eagle rods, clevitte main/rod bearings, apr studs, light weight flywheel, crower 272 cam, 660cc, 255 walbro, sbr fmic, 3inch cat back exhaust, act 2100 etc...

Just to give you an idea.

EvoIII Big 16G is a beautiful turbo... Enjoy

You will need a FMIC, Clutch, and definately a good exhaust syetem and some others to run that kind of boost I believe.

Im planning on the same thing except a Big 16G. Ill run the boost low if I get it, then get all the expensif supporting mods, then I can run high boost on the 20's

What exactly is the coolant side of a turbo? There is a compressor side and a turbine side but no coolant side?
To the original poster: You can run a 16G or variant on a stock car but the performance potential will obviously suffer and the potential for damage to the car is higher since the turbo is capable of flowing alot more air. Keep boost down until you can pick up the appropriate supporting mods. If you are unsure of what they are a brief search is all that is needed.

Is that NOT the same exact thing i said?

You dont need a fmic, or clutch to run more boost. Although you might eventually think about the FMIC after all the other supporting mods. And the clutch is almost always a thing everyone sone. but you dont NEED it to run a bigger turbo.

If you get a bigger fuel pump, and injectors. You might want to get a logger, and s-afc to tune. A fuel pressure regulator will also help. You dont want to be running to much fuel.

Oh sorry man, i thought I seen small for some reason.

Dont you need a better clutch though to hold all the extra horses?. My clutch is near dead anyway (Original one still, 172,000kms  )

I would get a better clutch. But its not needed as bad as something else to tune the extra forced induction. I would rather blow a clutch than a motor.
cutch is not needed but if u want all that extra power to grab u will need one....but get supporting mods before upgrading the clutch.
