What does the selenoid do that connects in the vac. line between the fuel pressure reg and the intake. Just curios, mine was leaking so I just bypassed it, had no problems yet and it weird to have 20inhg at idle again.

it is used for hot starts. what it does is cut the Vac signal so that the FPR sees 0 and keeps fuel up till a high Vac is seen ( some RPM's Over stock ) this is it. It is said to help hot start by adding fuel but I have not seen any down sides of removing this ( by passing it )

Thanks, I actually noticed it starts easier now with it removed and once it starts it doesn't smell like a gas station. Idles great too. As for the hot start I have had a few problems, like if i turn the car off and try to start it 15 minutes later, it starts and idles like I have a set of race cams in it with a huge loping to it. This stops once I start driving the car.
