GS-t vs. Mazda MX-3/mx-6 w/nitrous

I raced a guy here the other night it was a really close race. He has a MX-3 (not sure what year) with a mx-6 motor swapped in it, it's fully gutted to the extent of having no hood, and he was spraying a 75 shot. I was in my 95 gs-t w/ 16g, fmic, DSMLink, 1000cc injectors and all the other good stuff to compliment my set-up, and I was running on 91 pump gas at about 18psi.

Ok, sow we decided to go from a 40 roll, I pushed in the clutch and floored it using the nlts to rev it to 5500rpms for my launch. I let him do the 3 honks and then we were off. We were dead even through 2, I hit 3rd and slowly pulled a fender on him. His gear ratio was so short, I could here him shifting a lot sooner than I was. Then I hit 4th and continued to pull, but not very much, his headlights were at my door when I shifted to 5th, then as soon as I hit 5th he let off. We pulled off the freeway and were talking and the reason he let off was cause he was topped out, he ran out of gear. So all in all it was a pretty good race.

He didn't have a hood?
isnt a 1000cc injectors overkill for a 16g?
^^ +1

And I've seen a couple of those things that had a good amount of stuff done to them and they can be pretty damn fast, nice kill.
From what I have seen, the MX3's with a KL03 swap run low 14s(there light as hell like EG hatches) with bolt ons, with the 75shot im preety sure he was in the low low 13s/ high 12s, nice kill!

Take a look at Jeff Abrams KL03 V6 powered supercharged MX3

yeah, but when I upgrade my turbo I won't have to upgrade my injectors.

yeah he takes the hood off to race, it is as light as it can be and still be driven on the street.

To the rest of you: Thanks it was a fun race, his car is pretty bad ass, it sounds like a ferrari or something when he gets on it, but just can't handle a dsm :D

lol

Nice kill, I happen to own a 93 MX3
Stock, the GS models are SLOW
I mean really slow
The recorded times for them are 16.8... THIS IS COMING FROM A 1.8L V6

However, with a KLZE swap, low 14s are not hard to come by. Light suckers for sure. KLDE swap should get into the mid or high 14s. KFZE... dont remember

Yeah, I talked to him again last night and he went to the track Friday night and ran a 13.0 on slicks and a 14.10 on street tires. He loses a lot of traction when h is on street tires.
Wait did you say you revved up from a 40mph roll and tried to launch the car at 40mph in 2nd?

I have DSMLink, I can use the "no lift to shift" feature and press the clutch in and floor it. The car revs to 5500 rpms (or wherever I set the limiter) until I let off the clutch. I can build 15psi just by doing that for a few seconds and then dropping the clutch and going.
