Not if you do it right. It should last a long time with proper prep and good paint. I've done wheels that have gone atleast 50,000 miles and still look good. I'd keep them silver though. I think rims without a real lip don't look right if you try to leave the lip silver (or even polished). I think they would look worse all black though.varsitychick said:+1
If you want to do something to them, powdercoat them. You could always spraypaint them with a color you feel you are going to want permanant just to see how it looks. But spraypaint will chip after time (especially with rocks on the road, dirty, scum, etc.).
