If you want to do something to them, powdercoat them. You could always spraypaint them with a color you feel you are going to want permanant just to see how it looks. But spraypaint will chip after time (especially with rocks on the road, dirty, scum, etc.).

Not if you do it right. It should last a long time with proper prep and good paint. I've done wheels that have gone atleast 50,000 miles and still look good. I'd keep them silver though. I think rims without a real lip don't look right if you try to leave the lip silver (or even polished). I think they would look worse all black though.
And how many people actually spend the time to prep and do them "right" ;)

Well, it can be done right. It's like saying you can make a fast honda because most people do it wrong.
Chea, i think ill just leave'em silver and wait for the money to buy some sick rims-cause knowing me i dont have the patience or perfectionist touch to do anything rite
i repped mine like a fucking 2 year old and i haven't had a problem yet.

I used High Heat Engine Paint.
ive seen a bunch done gunmetal/black with the lip still polished/silver... IMO it doesn't look too good, as it makes the rim look alot smaller. Id keep them silver especially on a black car.
hey i don't have the GSX rims but i painted mine black!

that is the only one i have i will get some other ones if u would like.

what method did u use, this is what i was gonna do-
1st- clean the rims , leave them spotless, then sand them down to get the clear coat off and spray them with thre layers of paint-i gues engine paint, but ive heard of wheel spraypaint, then put three layers of clear coat on top....
whaddya think???
I did my friends 1g talon rims, turned out great.

1. Use aircraft stripper to get the paint off, comes in a spray can. spray it on, wait for it to bubble then the paint wipes right off. night have to repeat small areas that it didnt get all the paint, but loads easier than sanding.

2. we used dupli-color gunmetal wheel paint,we put on 4 thin coats waiting 15 mins between each coat as recommended.

3. we put on 2 coats of clear dupli-color wheel paint over it.

he had the car for 6 months after this and they looked as good as the day we finished them, he sold the car to a guy we kept in touch with and even after the guy took it on dirt/gravel roads where he lived they still looked great.
Black with a chrome lip will never be otta style ;)

paint them! I powdered my GSX rims white [summer rims] to match my talon, and i powdered my swirlies black and left the silver lip for the winter. Here's a pic of the GSX rims, i dont have the new pics for the swirlies up, if i remember i'll post them when i get home from work.
