Do lasers always have a an aluminum foil looking heat shield under their hood and above the motor ?

I have a 97 GSX and I have the heat shield. Its there to keep the hood as cool as possible so that the paint doesnt get damaged ( I think ). The high heat of the engine would due terrible things to your paint if you removed it.

all dsm's have the heat shields under the hoods as if you didn't know man!!!

I understand that totally . Im saying do they look like aluminum foil on yours or could u post pics i know mine in my car looks like cardboardcarpet .Because im looking at a car that has one that looks like aluminum foil on a 91 talon awd turbo

turbos were spose to have the aluminum covered stuff, nt' 2.0 had blak felt (cardboard stuff) 1.8 nt's had nothing, this is about a 1g i asume?
