I have done most of the mods on my car but with summer holidays just didn't have time to fix a leaking water pump.

How many hours should it take the average mechanic to change out a water pump? I think I got burned.

2 hours, 3 hours tops depending on any 'problems'.

You do have to remove and redo the timing when you do the water pump which is a majority of the real work.
