i got a carben creations hood. and it hold just fine with pins (i hate the pins too)
i'm also thinking about getting a carbon fiber hood too and i also hate hood pins. my car is rice enough with most of the interior gone... :D
You can get hood pins that use a key to lock and unlock. They are more secure, you don't see little things sticking up because they are flush with the hood, and they are more secure which means a theif will have a harder time getting under your hood. Just a thought.
Why don't you guys just purchase the CF Hoods with the stock latch? That would be your safest and best bet. This way if you accidently forgot to secure your hood pins your CF hood won't be smashing into your windshield. (I heard this story too many times from fellow DSMer's)

It's how I am rolling right now, very classy/clean look:

I have heard horror stories of the locking (keylock) hoodpins.

Hood pins are more race than rice I would think. Hood pins are used to secure body work in all types of professional racing from NASCAR to WRC to tarmac.

If you really hate the look have them anodized black.
go to google and look for zuese (sp?) fastners or i belive they are also called quarter turn fasters... they are extremely low profile.
Ok those hood pins are awesome how can I get my hands on those. That car is so cool...non functioncal FMIC! YES!
who cares what they look like if they stop your hood from smashing your windshield. I have had 2 friends who have had this happen. One had the latch rip off the carbon fiber hood and the other had the hood split and come up and smash his windshield. The hood was still latched down but the hood came apart from the understructure. Both of my friends hoods were Vis by the way
Okay, not trying to be a post whore by uselessly chiming in on this, but this just has to be said. Those are the most absolutly awe-inspiring, beautiful looking, bad-ass hood pins in the history of the automobile! If I had a CF hood I would definatly rock those. Hell, they almost look good enough to put on my stock hood for the Hell of it.

Heh, it doesnt matter. You dont get any post for whoring in here :p .

Varsitychick: The horror stories from most people with CF hoods comes from trying to use on with a stock latch appartus. It just cant hold forever with high speed wind stresses.

If you want a CF hood, get something that is dummy proof and will hold strong. A CF hood can cause A LOT of damage.

look at the pic. You can see the intercooler outlet, and there is no pipe on it. Therefore it is nonfunctional lol

Clean car varsitychick. Who made that hood? I don't have hood pins on my cf hood as well.
Really guys, what is so Ugly about Hood Pins?? I actually think they look awesome! I mean, I am not a fan of them when they have the wires running from them, but most hood pins on CF hoods are just plain badass...

What do you guys have against them...Makes the car look a little more racer like if you ask me...(in a non-ricer way)
