some times when i shift into 2nd, if its below like 3000rpms it kinda gets stuck or grinds alittle bitt.....i thought maybe it needed syncros or something, but anyways, if it sounds like it needs a rebuild, is aamco a good place, has anyone had experience with them....

have you considered changing the fluid and adjusting the clutch first? i notice you're from connecticut. check out ccdsm.net for more advice
I just ran across this thread and since you're asking about Aamco here's a link to a post I made detailing my nightmarish experiences with them:

< see post #17 (very long) >
i got my 3000gt tranny rebuilt at amacco and they did a good job i mean for how much i was paying them they better have done a good job.

the only thing that pissed me off was that 3 days after i get my car back with a fresh tranny the clutch blows out i needed to replace the slave and master cylinder and amacco tried to tell me that after i just payed them 3500 to rebuild my tranny the 12 month warranty didnt cover it.

i just yelled at them alittle and they only made me pay for parts which was like 100 dollars.

that was like a year ago and the tranny is still like brand new.
But if you buy one off ebay it's used.

Check out www.teamrip.com - they're the definitive solution to mitsubishi's failed experement of an AWD transmission.

Or you could always try the rebuild yourself! If you want a copy of the shop service manual I've got one on pdf I could send you. And a buncha other useful sites/ info.
