i just want confirmation- when i rotate the crank to line all the marks up, the pistons STOP just before TDC. it can kind of hear something hit under the valve cover too:( i can't get the marks to line up close enough to see if timing jumped because of the sudden STOP .:eeek:

i think the tensioner failed.

what do you think.... yay or nay? is that a valve(s) hitting the pistons?


all this happened about 1 week of driving after doing the TB install (twice- long story). during that time it had poor idle and performance.

i've searched other TB disasters and this seems to be the same

Yeah, there's really no other reason it would do that. Sorry to hear it. :(

update

i need 8 new intake valves. i can't even tell that the valves are bent. i might be able to getaway with just lapping new valves in.

heres a good tip- dont' be in a hurry to finish a the TB job. take your time and triple check everything. I forgot to tighten the idler pulley. DOH!!!:mad:
