I'd also like to add that you can use the 2g sensors just like the 1g cas, it requires the same modifications to the board as the 1g cas does. The two sensors on the 2g basically act like a single sensor on the 1g cas.:tree: I dont know if the 95 sensors will work. I dont believe the camshaft position sensor will.

Wishihadatalon had brought it up before but never mentioned how to do it for sure.

I was checking out my megasquirt and noticed the tps will climb until it reaches 88% or so if the tps isnt connected to the ecu. I thought I had messed something up but thats something every megasquirt does. Just food for thought incase someone assembles their MS and freaks out over the tps reading.

Yeah sorry about not getting my buddy in here :( We have been busy on my fiance's car. We put ms2 on it (2g awd 5spd) and have been driving the hell out of it. 1200 miles in the last 3 weeks on a new motor averaging 27 mpg with some spirited driving. No issues other than an after start enrichment setting that needs to be changed because it allows too much fuel during restart and causes it to stall.

I've got the MS2 on a v3.0 board running msextra 2.0. I'm running it parallel with the stock ecu. MS2 is controlling fuel and timing, stock ecu is controlling everything else including relays and idle controller. MS2 and stock ecu is sharing the cam / crank sensor, CLT sensor, and knock sensor.

I've been playing with the EAE settings, trying to get it tweaked correctly with my car.

You need to calibrate the TPS setting to get a good TPS reading. Same with the wideband.

Getting a jimstim is worth the investment to make sure that everything works before installing it in your car. Less of a chance of frying something that way.

Did you have to do anything special to share those sensors?

I'm just running the megasquirt by itself, I like having a bunch of switches.:freak:

I ran a Megasquirt I v3.0 for a while on a 1G AWD project I had going. I dumped the project and took on this Laser drag car instead. I kept the Megasquirt and will be using it on the Laser. I love this ECU.

I really wanted to add a link this software, http://www.ideasandsolutions.biz/MegaLogViewer/download/

MegalogViewer basically runs through your log file, and your MSQ file (tune), and helps create a map to get your A/F ratio into the target AFR Map, and generates a new tune to be uploaded to the ECU. It really helps to get you started on a tune. Once you see how it changes the map you can tweak from there, but truthfully I haven't had to.

Also the PDF linked above (http://www.megasquirtpr.com/downloads/How to MegaSquirt your 4G63 powered DSM.pdf) and the DIYAutotune site (http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_art...your_4g63_powered_dsm_eclipse_talon_laser.htm) , and of course the assembly manual on the MS site (http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/V3assemble.htm) are all you need to get the car running.

I was hoping it would be of some use. If anyone would like to play around with the Megalogviewer I can provide some old logs, and tune files you can feed into it and see how it works.

I've been around a while, yes. Still "rockin" the original DSM I bought in 1999, a red 1997 GST. 160,000 on the stock 7 bolt. :dunno:

Wow, seems pretty complicated. Does MS come with written instructions on how to read all the diagrams, or does it assume you already know what the symbols mean?

Any opinions would be nice! If i missed somthing please let me know.

I went through and noted some of the wiring for a Megasquirt harness to the 2nd gen harness. i have a patch harness from Mach-V that i cut and spliced wires to the megasquirt harness. That way i can remove it as easily as unplug the patch harness. My car is 100% stock. I want to learn how to properly tune MegaSquirt. The only added mod is a innovate WB and a IAT sensor.

Some of the sensor signals can be shared. as in spliced from dsm harness to megasquirt harness.
coils/ignitors and injectors can not be shared.

MegaSquirt DB-37 pin #----------DSM harness pin #
20--------Intake air temp-------- ran seperately to GM sensor you will have to mount in your intake.

21--------coolant temp sensor -----------83
22--------Throttle position sensor--------84
23--------oxygen sensor-------------75 rear 76 front (not sure wich one is better to use. or solder to aftermarket wideband.

24--------Crank position sensor----------89
25--------Cam Angle Sensor--------------88
28--------12 Volt Power-------------25 or 12 (must be hot durring cranking and when key in on position )

31--------Coil 1 & 4 -----------------------10
36--------Coil 2 & 3------------------------23

32--------Injector 1-----------------------01
33--------Injector 2-----------------------14
34--------Injector 3-----------------------02
35--------Injector 4-----------------------15

Optional:
Megasquirt harness pin #----------------DSM pin #
37--------Fuel Pump Relay---------------03 ( not necessary )

03--------Shift Light output

04--------Fan Relay Control Output-----20 High -- 21 Low (not Sure if it would work. ECU has to have this mod added)

05--------Boost Control Output----------11 ( Ecu needs to have mod added )

06--------Tach Output Signal ( Aftermarket Tach hookup)

29--------Launch Control input-----------07 ( not sure )

2G Turbo ECU Pinouts:

hope this helps someone.

My buddy bought a MS2 for his probe build. He has it all wired in and once your doing it, it seems fairly straightforward. It's just daunting to begin, haha

can not wait to see your write up.

i just passed 13,000 miles after my install. i have been to the drag strip a few
times to final tune the top end of the VE map. i have really not done too much
other than get a new Wide band sensor. After 8000 miles it died. i have been
getting 23 to 28 miles per gallon. i am only runing 14 PSI max on my daily driver
stock talon.

I have a question:

Is it possible to use a 2G patch harness to hook up a 1G harness? I am going to go to Megasquirt, and I was thinking of skipping all the mess with connecting the Megasquirt wires to the original wiring. I just want to know, so I can see about making my life easier for myself
