Limited Slip Differential???

My tranny went out and I am getting it rebuilt and the car overhauled. It is a 97 TSi FWD, and I was wondering if I should bite and pay the extra $1000 for a LSD. I'm going to put in an EVO 3 16g and 550 injectors and engine mounts, is the LSD worth the extra money? I plan on running drag radials regardless, and I guess I am wondering what type of traction gain I will get with an LSD with this setup.
