New Tranny Fluid question

1039 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  awdwhip
ok, i just got a reman'd tranny. and i am not sure what fluid to use. i know all about synchroshift and syncromesh, i have used them both and dont really care for them. but those are both way to thin for a new tranny. i need something a little thicker to absorb some shock.

anyone know what mitsu uses in stock trannys. or what is a good upgrade with a higher viscosity?

Mitsu uses gear oil. You can look in your owners manual and it should be more specific. Do NOT use motor oil. This is not a Honduh. Gear oil is usually 90 weight or higher so it's pretty thick. As far as all those additives and what not, I've heard not so good things about them so I'd just stay away from them.
you could try a mix of two bottles redline and a bottle of bg synchroshift II from SLowboy.
