Alright I got a fresh new rebuild, and can't decide whether or not I should replace the Oil Pump? It looks to be in great shape the two gears look brand new, no scratches, nicks, bluing from heat or anything. And the housing is in really good shape too. What do you guys think, I imagine the oil pump would last forever, it looks so simple. I know you can measure the clearances, but I didn't really unerstand how in my haynes book.
Thanks guys
I did a complete high HP build on my 6 bolt... oil pump looked decent even after 100,000 miles... Everyone is going to tell you the same thing. Don't take chances, replace it. Atleast you won't worry about it when you're done.
