problem with stalling up ( power braking )

On my old turbo I could stall up for about 5-7 seconds before the turbo bogged and I would have a crappy launch. I am thinking that was due to smothering the turbo with fuel but I am not sure.

I put my 20g in and I really dont get crap for a stall now. It starts to boost a bit, maybe 3-5 psi but nothing above that, I get a bit of a launch but nothing near as jarring as I did with my T-25. I dont know for sure what the problem is. I am hopping that the tuning at the dyno in another week will help solve that problem. This is my first time with a big turbo, I dont know if my expectations are realisitc on the launch but I think it should be much better. At least everything after the launch feels good.

I guess my question is, What would cause my bogging at the line? Should I not mash the gas but give less throttle before I launch and then mash it afterwords or do you think its some sort of fuel setting thats off?

Transmission oil is good and I just did an engine oil change

im feeling the same thing but with my evoiii 16g my t25 gave a better launch... (more jolting) but after the line when boost is built it of course feels better then the t25 from far,

Are you tuned?
well think about it. your talking about spooling up the tiny t-25 at stall RPM for your launch, which is possible, it spools much easier and faster than a 20g. youve got to be kidding if you think your gonna spool your 20g under 3500rpm, even powerbraking

In other words..
The reason you're feeling a better launch with the T25 is because it was actually able to build boost while you were powerbraking, therefore allowing for a better/quicker launch.

Now the 20g on the other hand, is a much larger turbo so in turn it takes a little more to spool it up. In order to get the same, if not a harder, launch (or "jolting effect") you'll need to upgrade the manifold, get your head ported, etc. So that it can flow more air into the turbo while powerbraking.

Another good choice would be to go to the translab guys and pick up a high stall torque convertor.

I plan on doing a stall converter upgrade soon. I was just wondering if I had too much fuel or something causing the problem. The turbo spools pretty quick but I have only had it in 3 days now so I am still getting used to it. I dont expect to launch as hard as I did but I did expect a bit more boost at launch then a few pounds.
no i am not tuned, stock fuel, stock tuned,

Nope, you're just not getting enough air/rpm to build pressure. I'm guessing you're probably only seeing 2500-2800 RPM while powerbraking, now if you upgraded the TQ and got that up around ~3500 RPM, you'd see more then a few pounds.

Yeah I figured as much. I am currently in the market for a stall and a 95 ecu T/A and chip but waiting on funds.

Awesome  Let us know how it works out.

And just so you don't think we're ignoring you. The same priciple applys to you and your car.
