HEY!!! im new to the whole dsm thang, got some quick questions would be GREATLY appreciated. I bought a 95 talon tsi (fwd) and it came with a supra intercooler
1) its big and my tire scrapes against it when i drive over bumps-at stock height!does it make that much of a difference compared to a stock smic?
2)Boost leak or bov prob?-my car is running at 14psi, but it doesnt feel like it-feels its leaking boost(i feel hesitation), and the turbos spool loud as hell, the guage tells me 14 then drops down to 10-11-it does this 70% of the time- when i doesnt then its all gravy-

what i do know is that its not spark plugs because they are new, the car is fully maintaned...

Hell yeah it does... our intercooler stock is hella small.

I think u'd hear the bov leaking if that was it (in my case i did). I'd check boost leak (do a boost leak test), and your wastegate.

no they do make TSI's fwd and yeah i'd agree with french check for leaks its always a good thing to check
keep the supra sidemount and try to manouver it so it doesnt hit the tire because you dont want to damage that..

do a boost leak test and you will def know where it is coming from..and that is def. effecting the performance of your car

i tried finding how to build a tester, but cant seem to find a straight forward way to build one, anyone have a link or any type of help, it would be grrreat
haha, well maybe you can simplify the area to check for leaks...

You say your tire is hitting it over bumps...Well, then the uicp inlet/connection is where you will want to start looking for leaks...It's common to have a crack in smic's, you can jb weld it, and those flimsy rubber couplers are always getting leaks and popping off...Both would cause boost-dropping leaks

BTW: If it's a t25 turbo, don't be a suprised if it is not holding boost all the time...As soon as you can upgrade, I would do it ;)
exactly what this man just said, if its the t25 its not gonna hold boost even with the stock sidemount. and tsi = fwd, tsi awd = well.........come on now lol :p
but you know what i've been curious about and have been asked about before...........what the hell does TSi mean? i tell 'em....l uh...........turbo sport interceptor ;) lol
