Should the idle screw leak?

1261 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Stephan
I did my first leak test today, and amongst several expected leaks, I also found that air was leaking from the idle set screw, is that normal or is there an o-ring or something in there that needs to be replaced?

there's an o ring in there. the screw will back out without any issues, but the thing can be pretty tough to get out...maybe loosen it as far as it will go then compress the air so it pops out?
lol, a whole different thread for this..

Yeah, I said it has a gasket in the other thread but I meant an o-ring...My mind is jumbled at 12am...good luck with fixing the leaks...

BTW: I have heard that replacing and finding that o-ring is a beeootch

Yeah, sorry, I must have just missed you. I read that thread again, and nobody seemed to be addressing the idle screw so I figured I'd post it in the tech section where questions get answered. I was just posting up for the night so I might have an answer by morning.

slowboy is ripping you off if your getting that screw from them cause the dealer only charges $1.30 for the BISS Screw and $3.07 for the O-Ring.

BISS Screw - MD614948
BISS O-Ring - MD608806

i paid $4.69 with tax for both of them.

not a problem...here if you need the cap..

BISS Cap - MD614532
lol I know that its not much of a difference but you can get them cheaper than that from Columbia Mitsubishi. You may also try jnztuning.com ( ;) greenstreak) for the same price, however thier web site does not appear to be working. Make sure when you call Columbia Mitsu you ask to speak to Anday and ask for the club dsm price :D

BISS MD614948 0.99
BISS O-Ring MD608806 2.19
Sorry I didn't know that.. whoops! Their site makes it sound like the dealer is even more expensive..
