springs question

Just wondering what is the best bet for a set of springs; Eibach, H&R or other.

Not looking for anything adjustable... how much would a lightly used pair of either of the above cost new and/or lightly used (sport- not race style)?

i have had good results with the Eibach Pro-kits and i recommend them if you want some good springs for the money.
If you want a comfortable ride, get the pro-kit. But I currently have the sportline and its awsome, the drop is perfect and handle like rail with AGX
Is it mandatory to change the shocks? I've heard they turn to mush unless you goto sports shocks during the spring swap.

Thanks for the help guys.
Yes, the stock shocks will not handle lowered springs too well. They will blow out eventually, and then you'll have a worse ride than what you started out with. Do mods the right way, get both springs and shocks simultaneously.
Extremepsi has a tokico kit for 550 shipped right now. I will be purchasing this set up in the near future. For the price, its seems to have a decent drop and good quality shocks. I had a full GAB coilover set up on my car for a few weeks and hated it! I will never again have a coilover set up.

You also can never go wrong with some Eibach springs. Just make sure you have decent shocks to compliment the springs.

I agree. I once had some very rude shocks. One morning, my springs were gone. They just had packed up and left. No note or anything. I'm sure it was because of the lack of kind words from the shocks.

ps. to call it quits on all coilover systems because of bad experiences with one lousy setup is rather short-sighted.

Just not my cup of tea to ride on a suspension that makes you fly out of your seat when you hit a bridge on the highway. Other then that it handled great.

I wouldn't say the GAB coilovers I had where lousy just VERY stiff. When new they were over a 1400 dollar set up. It was a fully threaded coilover set-up with pillow mount. Definatly not thrown together. Very comparable to the Tien setup. It wasn't lowered more then an inch and rode like piss. I just know I will NEVER go with any type of coilover set-up on any of my street driven cars.
yeah those GAB are made by KYB and are designed for the weekend track eventdefinatly nt streetable unless you don't mind getting punched in the kidnes here and there.
