OK. So I am tuning on my SAFC II.
Current MODS So far.
94 TSi AWD
SAFC II
PTE 550cc
NGK Plugs and wires
14B @ 18 psi
2g mani ported
Open Downpipe

I have been playing with the car lately and I have noticed when I advance my base timing, I will have to add more fuel so I dont knock. If I retard timing, I can be able to take out more fuel and still dont knock. But doesn't advancing your timing will make your car stronger? And also, if i retard timing, will be able to run leaner, which also result in the car being stronger too.

So what do you guys think is better?
Should I have my timing advance a little bit and run with more fuel, or should I retard timing a bit and run with less fuel?

Re: Tuning on SAFC, Which is better: Advance BTDC + Run Rich Vs. Retard BTDC + Run Lean

Go as advanced as you can with 0 knock through 3rd gear. That is your best option. So the first option I guess.
