What kind of a sound are we talking about here?
v belt concert
i just replaced my v belt (ps, ac, alt), but now every time i start a car a loud sound comes on for around a minute and then it stops. the sound is really lound and embarrasing sometimes, so please guys help me out on this one.

proly scretching, check the belt tensioner and the tightness of the belts, they could be too tight
check your belt tension, probably too loose.
i just sprayed the belts with some W 40 and the sound is gone, i'm not sure if the sound will comeback.

your not supposed to ever spray anything on your belts. not even that belt dresser crap.
My belts squealed at startup when my crank pulley separated.
It is probably a tension issue and nothing more. Start with the simple things.
Adjust the tension so there is no more than 1/2" of belt deflection.

yea check ur belt tension. usually when the belts r loose alil bit theyll make sound of squealing.
