4 = made in USA
E = Eagle
3 = passenger car
C = automatic seat belts
T = Laser or Talon AWD
6 = Special Price Class, there's also medium, high & premium
4 = Three door hatchback
4 = Hmm, what engine, should be a letter
8 = check digit?
M = year, 1991
E = plant, DSM
the remaining digits are the serial #
so how come the engine code doesnt work out? i hope it wasnt suppose to be a 1.8 or something, lol, also what does this "Special Price Class"?? i got it for 700, maybe thats why is "Special",
it must be stamped wrong, cuase its right there, the dealership knows its a 2.0Turbo AWD with out me telling them, and he wasnt smart enough to know that that was the only engine for the awd, i dunno, pretty wierd,
I believe the price class is an indicator for insurance companies on what to charge you for insurance on your car. Not sure about this but thats the only thing I can think of.
Personally, I prefer not to expose my VIN to the public here on the forum. I asked the guys from clean vin service VIN Cleaner - Removing vehiсles history from Internet resources to delete all the information about my car in Google and they helped me. Recommend.
