The GT is the Chinese knock-off. There is also yet another knock-off, the one that's being whored out on Ebay. I'd avoid both and stick to the real EVO3 - the one without "GT" anywhere in the title!Tom N. said:Turbochargers.com sells both the MHI unit and there GT model (which is not from China).

The one from TC is not made in China. It is made in taiwan.
The ones from ssautocrome and xspower are knock offs from china.
I also had a fully ported MHI evo316g that I ran before The evo316g GT from TC.
I did a back to back test of both turbos.
The MHI one went a best of 11.6 and the GT went a best of 11.4.
I also saw 2lbs per minute more airflow from the GT model.
Take that as you will. But I actual tested both myself instead of just listening to a bunch of people online who have no real experience with the turbos.
I've read no threads of actual GT's failing in any manner separate from what often can happen with normal evo III turbo's. Quit believing SBR's bullshit hype and look at the facts.gvr4dsmer said:Performance differences are not what I see most people having trouble with between the two turbo's. It's the quality and reliabilty differences of the two. I've read ton's of threads about this and the common problem with the GT seem's to be imperfections in the castings and the quality of metals used to make the turbo. I've read about how they come apart, the shaft cease's or pre-mature endplay resluts in a piece of worthless turbo. How many street miles have you put on the GT?
