is there any way to tell which gen. exhaust manifold i have while the manifold is on the car? i can tell that my manifold has ben removed recently, b4 i bought the car. i read somewere that 2nd gen manifolds have larger 10mm studs on the outside most studs, which mine has. thx for any help.

2G have a much thicker casting, and the collector is improved. It only looks larger because of the thicker casting.

If you have seen both a 1g and 2g manifold you will know the differance. you can see that the 2g clearly has larger runners

It isn't just 95 manifold that have 10mm outer studs. 93 up have it. Teh easiest way to tell is look at teh number 1 runner. 1g all the runners are smooth. On 2g the number 1 runner has a weird hump on it for some reason. This is pictured at vfaq.com.
I don't know why it's there but it is. Some folks think it's a great spot to tap for an EGT as there is lots of metal there.
