Wiring Harness Extension

I bought this extension harness from my roommate, he said its for a VPC. Why are these resistors in it and do I wire up my SAFC2 and my AVCR before or after the resistors? The resistors are tied into the MAF power supply (5volt), barometric pressure sensor (MAF), Intake air temperature sensor (MAF), and they are all tired into the ground one way or another. Do I need to remove these resistors before I try to use this without a VPC?

So I talked to my friend about this whole deal. He said to just remove the resistors and complete the connections as if it was the stock harness. So I just got done doing that. I'm still curious as to why the VPC needs those resistors though :confused:
