I have been talking with him lately and he was more than willing to get me a chip for my TSi. Knowledgable guy and UNBELIVABLY honest. A credit to all DSMers out there. I am most likely going to try his chip and see what it gets me I just need to study up more on his controlled fuel modifications.

As long as the pricing is posted on his website and not here then that's fine with us.
gotcha, thanx for the reminder :)

Dammit. There must be some electrical engineer guru that can HELP THE REST OF US OUT. Boy, think of the NON-95 ECU people that would jump at this stuff. 100 bucks for an ECU upgrade? You damn right I'd buy that instantly.

But noooooo... we're stuck saving for AEM PnP. ;)

Cool product. I wonder what "Octane Reset" means....
The ecu believe it or not runs different timing maps according to the octane that you are running. I believe this chip will save the highest recorded octane value in the ecu and allow you to always run that map. This is something DSMlink does as well.

KNOCK GAUGE WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Officially the easiest tunable 2g car EVER.

Knock counts display on your factory boost gauge.

1st needle = 7 counts
2nd needle = 14 counts
highest needle = 21 counts.

I can tell because I have some knock when the motor is cold and Im trying to hit the gas a teeny bit. So far no knock on my WOT pulls.
Is knock really a new feature for dsm chips?
"Octane", or percentage of maximum spark advance - This one is related to the bleeder solenoid LED mod, except that you get to see the entire range of spark control instead of simply an single good/bad indicator. As the knock events become more frequent and severe, this meter will decrease in value. Useful for diagnosing those difficult "hyperactive knock sensor" or "bad gas" problems.
from tmo site for stage 3

The only difference I see is that the tmo chip gauge goes down with knock unlike the chip you are testing that goes up. I guess if you know what the line equates to it would be more accurate though. The tmo displays spark advance which isn't the same as knock but "almost" the same function.
The clone chips on ebay(which I have one uninstalled) have "knock gauge" listed as a feature.

I see now..

Honestly that chip seems like a waiste of cash. It really does nothing to "help" performance.

I didnt see them offer any injector compensation or MAS hacks. They have the same write up for their 1G and 2G chips.

Just odd I suppose

What other mods did you get? Did they ask for a list of mods to burn you a custom chip by chance?

Jeffs chip eliminates fuel cut as well, and gives a stutter.

Does your 3 step no lift to shift work as well as the sitting still stutterbox?

Their all the same features as far as I know. Like I said above I have it but haven't put it in yet so I can't give a review of it, I just know what it should do. I don't want to compare or support the other chip because it doesn't benefit me. I was just showing an option.

Don't stare at it! lol. Take a quick glance every 1k rpm or so. I'm sure you'd notice it going up to the top part if you know that's the knock gauge too even without concentrating on it.

Ya but I'm just saying it's still not accurate, you still can't log it, and I don't think it should be a strong selling point.

I think this is the #1 selling point on this chip. Just an opinion though.

Most of the reason people get a DSMlink is to tune properly for knock!

WHo tunes when there is traffic on the roads? I make sure I have LOTS of space ahead of me before I do a pull to tune..

I have time to watch my gauge and look at the road. It helps to have another person in the car sometimes as well. That other person can tell you when the little needle moves up and down

You have good points indeed.

But for 100 dollars, vs, 650+ laptop... you could save some cash if you didnt intend on having the highest performing DSM on the block :)
