a friend of mine had a 90 eclipse gsx and had alot of problems with it so went and got a real nice, not sure what year, but around 2000-1 camaro ls1 350 6sp, also came with a exhaust and lid intake setup thing, so wasnt stock either, so i toke him for a ride home in my car and he was very impressed, expecially with the awd launch i toke him for, his eclipse went good but didnt make it past the 14b and stock fuel system stage, so anyway he gets in his car and we head out, first run down the highway we take off at the same time from about 50 ish mph, right off the bat i toke off to about a 2 car length lead because later was told he started spinning, so through 3rd and fourth he isnt gaining if anything im inching ahead but was hard to tell trying to watch the mirror and everything else at the same time. into 5th gear and still not catching, pretty much stayed just 2 cars behind me the whole way through 5th to about 130 or 135 when i shut it down. i was confident on be able to either beat him or stay with in 3rd and 4th but was worryied about 5th gear, we all known camaros up top are fast on the high way, but my 5th gear pulled good and i wasnt caught or beat. then we get another better race again equally starting off at the same time in 4rd at about 55 60, dead next to each other looks like i pulled a foot, through 3rd, shifted to 4th and he gained back and a little more, but only like a foot so we still dead even, and in fourth i pull a couple more inches but still very close and hard to tell, was day light out and we were just looking at each other the whole time, it was very awesome well matched race, we both kinda a greed that a pulled alittle better but only by inches. on pump sunoco 94 gas which i always run on 19psis, amatuer tuned and rest of mods in sig.
cliff notes... up through 5th gear on the highway and very dead even race, 3rd thru 4th gear another race and both agreed i pulled but by inches. very evenly matched cars.
