Tonight I pulled into a shell station and was approached by this guy. He asked if my car was a turbo and when I told him yes he asked if I'd like to race his friend, when I looked over and saw his firends beat up crx I laughed and asked if he was spraying. I was assured that the car was "stock" even though I could see the large aftermarket muffler. So anyway we go at it and this guy pulls like 4 cars on me by the time I was at the top of 3rd gear. Now my car is a stock '95 GS-T with 105k miles, but I still expected to beat this guy. When I pulled back into the gas station the guy swore up and down that all he had were intake and exhaust. I launched decentl and didn't miss any shifts and he just killed me. I know my car is running ok because I smoked a BMW 325 a few weeks ago, and I can still beat my buddie's accord with a vtec motor and intake very easily. So basically if anyone thinks he could have beaten me that badly with just intake and exhaust then let me know because it just doesn't make any sense to me. It was an older CRX but it was an SI.

You should've asked what engine he has in there. Those guys swap engines a lot, so with just an intake and exhaust, and the light weight of the crx, they have a great power-to-weight ratio and are able to stomp people. *shrugs*
Sounds like he hit you with sleeper car kill trick, an si crx with normal mods will give a decent race becuase of there light weight, now with a b16a swap and normal mods, you can get them to hit high 13's (good driver included) hey thats why I got me a hatch civic!! total sleeper, my grocery cart looks like crap. With engine swap finished it'll be a true sleeper.

i got stomped by a crx recently... primered gray with "just an intake and exhaust" on a b16... unfortunately his blow off valve was louder than mine 
i guess i heard my intake... i guess the guy runs 12's in it from what he was saying
those things are so light that with a few small mods they can be pretty quick. with a few big mods, they can be really scary

that had to suck, I beat my friends 80ish crx a couple times, and I got a 1999 N/T... stock at that!!! He had a full exauhst/ w headers, cold air intake, and a couple other light mods, but he hung with me....

I palyed with a late 80's CRX a few weeks back. It had fresh track numbers and he started with me . All he had was an intake. I kept an eye on the AFC and tried to keep the throttle at about 20%. Pulled a car or two no him still. Saw a CRX with a B16 and a 50 shot go 13.1. Gotta be carefull.

i can hang with my friends lowered 87 CRXsi. hes got a ram air intake, integra injecters (i think they are in the glove box at preset), teg ecu and a flowmaster. his interior is gutted and hes got some 2g si tear drop wheels, not to mention the bondo mods. i think he could hang with a gs and maybe, just maybe scare a gs-t. my bros 89 rex is pretty fast too but its only got a hacked airbox and a k&n. both are fast with stock engines, so they have potential

Yeah, engine swap (lets say a b16a) and even just an intake and exhaust, with a car that weighs less than my bike! yeah he shouldnt be too slow, but i donno
yeah he shouldnt be too slow, but i donnoYeah I was on the high way last summer cruising and raced a CRX with a huge fart can on it ended up getting beat pretty bad; granted at the time I wasn't too good with my car, I should've shifted to 4th intstead of taking off from 5th, but oh well haha.
Oh well man no worries, he probably did have an engine swap with only an intake an exhaust on it, that or was lying and had like a 200 shot
