i changed out my n/t fuel pump for a turbo fuel pump and it dont work. but if i hook a positive and ground to it from my battery it works. no fuses are blown and everything was connected properly. now can i just connect a positive and negative wire directly to the fuel pump and run it directly off my fuse box on an accecery. is it bad for it to run all the time tho? when car is running?

Try hooking a positive wire to the fuel pump check terminal near the battery and seeing if the pump runs.

The pump primes for a second when the key goes to "run" and then shuts off until the car starts. Once the car starts it runs constantly and the fpr keeps the pressure constant.

The stock setup has two inputs to the MPI relay for the fuel pump. One runs the pump when you turn the ignition switch to START. The other input is from the ECU. The ECU monitors that the engine is running and will shut off the pump shortly after it sees the engine stop to reduce the chance of a fire.

If your pump works by hotwiring it, you should go through the stock wiring and make sure it's good and the MPI relay and ECU work.
