if i were to get my tsi into mid-12s, how many miles per gallon can i expect to get if i was using 94 octane?

I would say roughly 16.3 mpg. 
No, but seriously...it is all in how hard you drive your car. You don't need to be running high boost all the time and you don't need to be WOT all the time. I get like 16-18 city and I don't even have that much done, I just like to get to speed really fast. Now that 93 is from $1.95 to $2.05 a gallon I turned down the boost and don't hit boost as much anymore....sorta.

In a similar state of performance my car gets about 18mpg with a mix of cruising and hard driving. All in town driving though with very little highway cruising.
