I have read a few articles in Hot Rod (when I used to get it) about rolling fenders and they seem to like using the old bat method, which is sticking a bat between the tire and the fender and moving the car either forward or back so that the bat gets jammed between the two. To tell you the truth I really don't know how successful this would be on a DSM, I work as an collector car restorer and can tell you there is a big difference in body panels of today and those of the past. Plus I believe that Hot Rod did this on a 68 camaro, and they already are somewhat rolled around the wheel well. I would just be nervous to try this on a newer car, I mean you could get halfway through and end up buckeling the quarter panel, since our cars are unibodies they derive a lot of support from the pinch welds so those areas might not be all that willing to move. just my $0.02

well i know a ton of silvia guys that did it to their cars so they could fit some nice offset ssr's, wats, and longchamps under the rear. It just got me thinkin, thats all, cause i like the look of large lip on dsms, and i dont want my rims sticking out, so i was looking for an alternative solution to an expensive fender flare.

I did some more research, and i found that rolling only adds 5mm of xtra fender. I also found that pulling the fender is the most common method to making really nice fender flares.

I am not even sure how they do it, but from what I have seen it looks like they are heated up and stretched outward and upward to give a fender flare without actually having to bolt on a fender flare. So they are kind of "pulled". This is all hypothetical, anyone who is a body tech feel free to correct me.

i rolled 2 of my friends car... 94 jetta, and 95 corolla.

this is the first time ive EVER seem a rolling fender related topic that has ANYTHING to do with DSM.. we have monster truck sized wheel wells...

but if you must, we used 2 different sized PVC pipes and had aobut 4 people in the car for weight.. it work well, no more rubbing, however it DOES crack the paint.
