well i know i needed serious help outside of my DSM but anyways, i have a big problem. Long story short i picked up a 93 awd turbo talon (my 1st turbo, 3rd dsm) for free. It needed a head so it was a deal. I ended up pulling out the motor 2 weeks ago, just finished putting it back in yesterday. Well i went to start it today and......nothing. I figured the fuel had to repressure and fill but then i cantg figure out why its not even turning over. its got new plugs, wires, coil pack. the starter was in good shape. I dont know where to start!!!!! i nee this car by next wendesday no butts about it!! When i turn the key all i get is a click once, then i hear the fuel pump pushing inside the car and at the FPR. i need something, someplace to start. anything is helpfull, especially from those who have dealt with this problem. thanks guys!!:) ill be on for a while, and checking in. thanks.

well... ive done something similar... in my case a civic engine swap.. but neway. the same deal, click, no turning of engine. turns out the car had an alarm on it previously that we must have messed with during the swap and it was killing the starter. if thats not the case then check and make sure you hooked up the battery wires to the starter properly, all your grounds are good, and that the starter is still good. you could aslo try turning the motor by hand just to see if its not something you did during assembly. good luck

Hows the electrical stuff on the car? ECU, all the connections, etc. getting the car for free when all it needed was a new head sounds odd...So I would check everything, but anyway, anytime you can get anything for free, score!

well, i knew the kid who owned it last, and its history. i figured i would start with the starter, i dont think its the problem but you never know........ other electricals are good. the car had a security system but it was brought to a shop and they disarmed it. ill look into that also. i was actually reading a thread on dsmtuners.com with the same issue. thanks a bunch for the help though guys, its well appreciated.

I know this sounds stupid and is the most obvious, but just to make sure....does the battery have a full charge? I know that with as much as my car is down after 2-3 weeks of sitting in my garage the battery doesnt have enough juice to turn over the engine usually unless I charge it (time for an optima soon)
In the perfect world it would be something as easy as this.
