well just cruising along on the highway, and just as I notice that the temp gauge is showing a LITTLE higher than normal, when all of a sudden the car dies.
so I roll on to the side of the road, and pop the hood GREAT.

my coolant was boiling hardcore, the overflow was going nuts shooting it out under the car. and a hissing and poppin g sound was coming from the waterpump area.

now, before this, my coolant light never came on once, and I'd never had it leak at all, so I don't know what happened, the waterpump is only a couple of months old, yet the waterpump looks soaked, who knows maybe that gasket is broke now or something?

my main problem is that now the car will barely start, and when it runs it's making horrible noises, knocking, grinding, it basically sounds like pure utter shit.

I'm about to go start ripping some stuff apart, I was just hoping to get some ideas on where to start.

thanks guys.............. *I KNOW YOU WEREN'T SERIOUS BUT I EDITED THIS TO AVOID BREAKING THE RULES.*

yeah thats one of the things that crossed my mind, but it just seemed unlikely because I put a new headgasket (OEM) on with the waterpump a couple of months ago. thanks though, I'll check it out.

about to do a compression test.... thanks

haha P.S. I didn't notice you edited my post, I don't really wanna sell her, I just might need to anyways on account of moving away, stuff like this just makes it seem like it might happen sooner than later on account of money ;)

ok first of all this sucks haha

I just did a compression test.and I got 145 - 155 - 155 - and then on the last cylinder the one furthest from the timing belt, guess what, spark plug wire wasn't even on, the rubber piece on the end had a slit in it so it didn't really hold itself on anymore. GREAT, so I'm guessing this was probably the cause to my problem, but I think it caused damage. oh and also I still did the compression in that cylinder after and it was at 160

I fired the car back up, and and it ran smooth plus all the bad sounds were gone, except now there's a bad knocking, it's the only out of place sound. and it's wierd since sometimes while the car is idling it gets quiet almost to the point where you can't hear it, and then it sometimes gets a lot louder. it also speeds up with the motor if I rev it at all.

so I'm thinking that I fucked something up bottom end somehow, do you guys think rod bearing or something like that, or is there still a chance it could be something like a headgasket?????

thanks again :tree:

I'd check for coolant in the oil before you really run it. Blowing coolant out wont necessarily mess things up - but if something else happened along the way, that might have done it.

I would also just check out all the accessories under there- take a good look at the water pump, look for something out of whack. If it is based on load and RPM it could be a number of things.

What plugs/wires did you have on there before? (out of curiosity)
