It keeps oil and unburnt waste from re-entering the combustion mix. Ergo, the air "reading" has more oxygen per cubic volume which will allow more injector fuel for a very little bigger but cleaner bang. You would be surprised how much goop builds up on the throttle plate. Bill Spruill, oldest Colt

Does anyone have any pics of this mod done? Also, I notice just about everyone who posted on this tread drives a 1st gen, I'm assuming it can be done on a 2nd gen. I broke the hose on my egr valve, if it can go without the vaccum hose, that would be great.

yes you can remove it on the 2g, all you have to do is make a plate its very very simple. also try checking this out it should answer all your questions, im suprised this thread hasnt answerd all of them for you to begin with... http://www.taboospeedshop.com/emissions1.htm

I'm assuming that my post was understood as a non-turbo and not turbo model? So the EGR is behind the manifold? I was way off. I thought it was the thing right in front of the valve cover near the intake piping. At least that's what I was told.

If you guys have emissions inspections but still want to block the egr off, use a pop/soda can to make a new gasket for the egr. Then just don't put the through holes in it. That way everything can be hooked up, it just won't do anything.

Could someone PLEASE post a pic of the install complete?

i have my egr valve sitting next to me on the computer desk... once I eat something and take a break, I am gonna cut up a pop can and block it off.

the pop can thing will be temporary till I get a better piece from FFWD

actually the egr valve almost looks like the stock 1st gen BOV but smaller

I just dont get it... that plate on page 2... I looked up the EGR on my chiltons manual... and I see no place to put that plate... theres 2 hoses coming in... and 1 comin out... or maybe 1 coming in and 2 going out.........

I see another thing right between the throttle body and the valve cover and I could see the block off plate going there.. but I dont think thats the EGR>>]

can someone please post a pic it would help me so greatly I have trobule following diagrams.. I need to see it to understand..

THANX A MILLION
