hey guys..i attend western michigan university and was wondering if anyone here does..just like to know who i got around me cause there are a lot of riced out civics here and it kills me to see so little DSM's..
That's a pretty good idea Randy. My dad just offered to lend his shop's parking lot if we want. I know it's a drive for most of you guy's but I just wanted to put the offer on the table. His shop is on the south side of Holland by Tulip City Airport. There are parking spaces for I'd say an easy 20 maybe 30 cars if we wanted to do a show. And the back half of the building is not rented out right now so In case of rain we could have some retreat. He said we can do whatever we want so a grill off wouldn't be out of the question either.
any one in on something like this?
show off
sell off
cook off
it's a triple "off" event
please no other jokes than this one it could get ugly...
anyway post away if you'd be in for something like this...
i'm in all the way
i'm in i guess. sounds fun, kind of a long drive but its all good. i get to show off my shitty looking car with a hole in the fender and everything. anybody need a back seat from a 90 laser? its in great condition. if this idea would have come up a week or two ago i had the full interior panels from 3 cars available. oh well, i'll see what i can throw in the hatch. i could also talk to my dad and see if we could have it here, but i doubt it, we have a 40'by60' pole barn garage and a grill, plus a good fire pit thingy, and plenty of parking area. i'll try to talk him into it
I'm up for whenever you guy's are. Sometime in August would work best for me. We can cook up anything. We would just need to get some grills over there somehow.
On another note. I finallly fired up the silver car last night. Started on the first try! That's always a good feeling. So far everything looks good. There's a few things to finish up and some MAJOR tuning to do but I think all is well. Still need to build the rest of the roll cage this week but hopefully it will go smoothly and I can drive it w/in a week or two.
It sounds good to me too. I will plan on coming as long as the date you guys choose works out for me. I think it would be cool to hang out with some fellow DSM'ers for a night especially since I have already met Andy & Randy (I am the one who bought the GC/Koni setup from you). None of my friends really get into this type of thing.
Would this be a "guys" night or would you guys be bringing your girlfriends? Just curious. I don't know if my girlfriend would even want to go yet.
I'm def in on something like this, especially if it is in mid-late August. Bryan would anyone go from BMS?
Got some 2ga exterior parts and general 2g parts I would like to get rid of.
Grilling and meeting with all you guys would be a lot of fun and I'm sure a great time plus an awesome way to learn some new stuff about DSMs since I haven't even gotten into tuning yet.
well, it lookes like we cant have it at m place, so party in holland i guess. woo! um, i can scrape a few thigns together parts-wise. i'll bring a little tailgate grill and a few packages of hotdogs, brauts(sp?) and buns. i'll check to see if i have any venison left in the freezer to bring. and of course i'll bring some seasonings (chili powder, salt, pepper, red pepper, seasoning salt, lemon pepper, etc.)
any details yet on this meeting in holland? i need to know at least 3 weeks in advance to get the time off work at my new job.
and whos up for a quick little meeting in kalamazoo before SO?
you guys up to caravaning over to ann arbor on the way and meeting up with another group of dsms over there? it'd be bad ass.
and respond immediately bitches, and people, sirs.
sounds good, but we'll all be caravaning down to SO in one big line right? well, everybody thats cool enough to go anyway. (no offense to any who cant go because of schedule conflicts)
i would like to attend also, when and if i can get my motor home from the machine shop. newly rebuilt motor with no oil pressure. nothing but hassle. lets get a definate date and i might just have to bring the cavalier if i need to. hopefully my ride will be ready for the caravan to ohio.
good luck with your motor. hopefully the shop gets it right. and i too need to know a date for this meeting, as son as possible too. my boss is anal when it comes to requesting time off, wants at least 2-3 weeks advance.
How does everyone feel about doing the swap meet/show/cook off on Aug. 28? I think that would work OK for me. I'm just up to my ears in work right now...
Randy- the site is www.ayaracing.com Looks like they moved to Grandville now. WTF?
My silver car is up and running now. It seems to have some major tuning issues I'll need to address. I may just go stand alone sooner than I had planned. Anyways, It's over at my friends shop right now for the roll cage. He's a pro and I'm not. A customer car came in this week for some work and I stand to make some good money so I decided have the cage outsourced... Well, so much for doing it all myself!
I'm down for GR on like a Fri. or Sat. night. My car probably won't be streetable for another 2 weeks yet but I could take the Ty if it came down to it.
August 28th sounds good to me. I will more-than-likely be there. I know that most of you guys don't know me but as said before, I have met Andy & Randy already.
How's it going, by the way?
I have been having some issues with my car this spring also. I never really did get past my phantom knock problem last summer so I had the 3g lifters installed this spring with some HKS 264/272's and some 660cc injectors. The problem now is that I am still getting an UNREAL amount of knock even with dead-on A/F ratios and EGT's. I am hoping a new OEM knock sensor will solve the problem. It only seems to knock with a load on the motor... might be picking up some sort of mechanical noise.
Anyway, I will keep an eye on this thread to find out the exact date of the meet.
Thank you for the link! the place looks to be clean and put together but...
Has anyone used them yet?
Can they help you tune?
I've heard only a little about them.
keep me posted....
I'm on my why to HIN for the day in chi-town and a awd celica meet with a couple of my buddies from GR
