I go to pick up my car tomorrow and the only thing i could rent was a tow dolly. Can anyone explain the procedure for removing the driveshaft from the rear... i'm asking because it will be total darkness about 1am so any imput would greatly help.

thats alot of work, i thought it was just 4 bolts in the rear and be done with it?
yes, you can disconntect the driveshaft from the rear diff with 4 12mm bolts/nuts. BE SURE to tie the driveshaft up very very securly and out of the way of the input flange of the rear, as that will be spinning away while the car is towed.

Probably be better off to pull the driveshaft off altogether.

Drain the transfer case.
4 bolts in the back.
4 bolts (iirc) for the carrier bearings.
Pull the driveshaft out of the transfer case.
