I had a new SS o2 housing made for my 2g gst and now I cant get the fricken oil filter off. It was a custom made unit copying the AMS o2 housing that had cracked. So is there a shorter filter that you know of that will work in place of my stock one?

Not sure if that could apply to a 2g, but on my 1g I can put the pre-92 and post-92 oil filter. One is smaller and longer, the other one is bigger but shorter. Don't see why it wouldn't fit on yours.

One more you could look for is the oil filter from a newer 200? Civic (1.7 Vtec). I was shocked to discover that... a friend of mine bought one and they have the same part numbers as ours! :D

I've got the same issue as well... I run open exhaust from my 3" o2 elim/dump downpipe and it's right in the way whenever trying to get my oil filter off. a buddy of mine had the same problem and said that for a while before he got his downpipe reshaped, he used a filter from a montero sport... supposedly it's the same thread pitch and the filter is shorter... he has a 2g, I haven't tried this on my 1g..

I think mitsu makes 2 oil filters period. A long one and a short one. If you ask for a Evo 8 filter they should give you she short one. It may very well be the same filter as the Montero filter. You might PM Van and ask him for sure though because he WILL know.

not to sound stupid, but easy way to find out imo is just go to wal-mart
they have that little fram oil filter electronic thing and
you just put in the year/make/model of the car and it tells you what filter it uses..
