I hate the battery terminals on my car!

I can't fully tighten them with a 10MM ratchet, long socket, open end wrenh etc.

There just doesn't seem to be enough clearance.

As a result, I can only tighten marginally and my battery terminals keep coming lose.

Do you guys or have you guys changed them with aftermarket walmart terminals etc. or do you just go to the dealer and get new ones?

Maybe you can try replacing the nut with a wingnut (I think that's what its called) so you tighten it with your fingers.

Personally I use an open-end wrench.

Maybe you are right?

But the wingnut will have less space to turn than a normal nut....you did give me a great idea though.

Why not use a bunch of nuts on each terminal?

Nuts...lotsa nuts. won't fix the problem. sounds like he can't get his nuts tight enough on the post.
Go to wally world. I had to use them on my Beretta (too much aftermarket lighting and stereo equipment) and have had no problems.
