The Friday night sucked because it started to rain for about 10 minutes and then suddenly dried up. Unfortunately it was enought to scare 50% of people from South Philly streets and we ended up making circles after circles trying to collect a crowd big enough to race.
Eventually some nice cars gathered around. I was there first so I had to flag the races for a while, untill PSR crew swowed up and too over. It was a bit of adissapointment when I had to wait in line and then run a circle because the cars behind me were already prestaged, but it payed off when I ended up on the line next to a modded Lexux 300IS. Now I mean no disrespect, but IMHO, cars that are modded for looks should not race, period. It is embarasing to the driver and his date, don't you think? We line up and he's revving at me full throat. Flagger waves and I begin to roll forward.. slowly. The Lexus takes the lead by about 1-2 cars and then I floor it. I lined up with him in 2nd, looked over and waved "bye-bye" at the driver. Then I proceed to beating him silly by putting about 10 carlenghts between us. Yeah, he was pissed.
Next race happened at the same street about 20 min later, when I was sitting in line, waiting and the stager(term?) waved at me to come up and race a... one of those new Mercedes SUV thingies. That car was hooked up to the limit. Body kit, graphics, 20inch wheels, TVs, alot of stereo crap etc. A stupid girl dressed a la gansta, looked at me(us) and laughs: "Yo, Mercedes gonna whoop that shit...".
"Really?" says my friend. I just smile. The driver, a big funny guy, looks inside my car and screams:
"What the hell is that computer doing there?! I'm not racing this thing!" Wise move, IMHO.
But we are staged and flagger signals GO!
Do I really need to waste space, writing about how bad that joke of a car lagged behind? You get the idea.
Unfortunately, making a circle to come back, I hit something very very sharp and blew my front right tire to shreds. No more races for tonight Oh well, I was looking to upgrade to better wheels anyway.
