Hey all, I am almost ready to try and give the engine a whirl. Got everything hooked up, spun the crank with a breaker bar a few times, but before I turn the key- what else needs to be done? Pretty much this car has been sitting for a while with nothing hooked up inside.

I know from working on older cars, you could prime the oilpump with a drill to get oil around the motor... what do you do with the dsm?

Also, what about fuel? Will cranking the motor just pull fuel from the tank even though the lines were disconnected? I don't want to jump into anything yet, but I just want to know it's going to turn over.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Pull the MPI fuse, and crank it over 3 times for 15 seconds a time, with a minute or so in between to let the starter cool down. This will allow the engine to lubricate. The fuel pump is electric, so it won't take long to get fuel to the injectors.

It's usually the "blue" fuse in the fuse box on the batterie's "+" post. The cover of that little fuse-box should have the description of what fuse is what in that box.

the drill on the oil pump works as well, its the best way to lubricate it if everythings dry.

Well I never got around to working on the car much today. Had a few issues around the house. I was hoping to have a buddy help me out today. But everyone was out on cookouts. I did get alot more hooked up in the engine bay though. Got all the brakes and rotors off too. The dang abs is going to be a pain I can tell. I may do the non-abs swap.

Before I crank the motor up, I think it would be a good idea to do it w/o plugs in it to get it lubed... does that sound like a bright idea?
