I am in the market for a turbo upgrade and am diffently looking at the some sort of 20g versus any type of hybird setup. which 20g have people had the best results/experiences from? tdo5h 20g, tdo6 20g, or a td06h 20g a forced performance verious or buschur's? open to suggestion an comments. thanks

Buschur's 20g is a TD05H turbine wheel that's clipped to an unspecified degree (somewhere between 15 and 25 degrees). This goes back to the old school philosophy that clipping the wheel will add top end. Then people got smart and figured out that it's much better to put a TD06H wheel on instead. It'll spool at least as well and make more top end. There was a dyno test done awhile back on a clipped TD05H-20G vs. a TD06H-20G. the 06H spooled slightly faster and made more power throughout the powerband. Tort recently went 11.0 @ 126.79mph on a TD05H-20G (clipped to an unspecified number from FP). Then we bolted on a TD06H-20G and the car felt ballistic. I can see 130+ traps in the near future. You can get a TD06H-20G for around $1k now. And don't listen to the clowns who tell you to just get a 50 trim. The 20g is the better turbo. ;)

i guess i am trying to stay with the old school tried and true setups. What are opinions on internal gating a 20g?
Internal gates work perfectly fine if they're set up correctly. I set Tort's up so that the rod is pointed just like a 14b/16g. It allows for good throw and the ability to preload it enough that the door stays shut when you want it to. When he did the TD06H upgrade, he also did a Bullseye housing. Here's what it looks like:

in sure an internally gated B20g or one from forced performance would fit all your needs. personally i havent seen any problems with internal gates on 20g turbos in a few of my buddies dsm's

Shep holds the record with a 10.70 @ 131 (it's been debated that it was actually a garrett wheel in a 20g comp. cover). Tym went 10.98 @ 123, Tort has gone 11.02 @ 126.79 on the TD05H-20g and is shooting for Shep's record. On an internal gate and stock 7 bolt, no less. ;)

I have no boost control issues with my internally gated 20G. I'm sure the 02 dump helps. Boost creep is odd, it seems some cars are worse than others.

I'm glad someone here know's what they're talking about. Old school or not, a 20G will hold its ground against a similar turbo, like a 50 trim. I've seen people get higher traps on an 06 20G, than I've ever seen get on a basic 76 trim, .63 A/R 50 trim.
